I'm putting all the Christmas stuff away now and it's very sad. I have four of those green and red storage containers and that is all I have of Christmas decorations. I remember when the kids were small, I think I had about 10. Well that's good in a way because I've been able to purge and not buy any more "stuff."
A couple of really great ideas for my cheap and cheerful decorating this year were my pine cones. I filled my vases with them and my planters with them. Usually fresh pine bows and candles went into these and poinsettias. I didn't have to go buy any of that this year. Also, I filled the tiered cookie stand with clementines. The Christmas tree went away yesterday. When the garbage trucks drove up my street, the sweet smell of pine and spruce wafted up the street, too. Bitter-sweet.

I did buy this book this year called, "I'm Dreaming of a Green Christmas," and at $30CAD it was a bit pricey. I've been buying my books for $3 at Valu Village so this is very extrav. There are oodles of great ideas in it and yummy recipes too. The recycled wool wreath is a wonderful idea although the one in the photo is ugly. Also making decorations out of used Tea Bags was very cool.

I will be putting this book in my craft/holiday section of my Ikea Expedit shelving unit. All my wool is in the bins with a bin just for my needles and stuff like that. Then I have a shelf for Graphic Design books, interior design, knitting and seasonal crafts. Love it. If only the rest of the house was as organized as this little corner.
